Decorated Boat Weekend - Dec. 3, 4 & 5 2011

The Decorated Boat Contest is part of the Port Orchard Chimes and Lights festival. 

 

 The lighting of the boats will warm the atmosphere and the Christmas Spirit.  The voting is exciting for every boat owner.  Get a chance to get into the Christmas Spirit. Have a Ho HO hO Holiday Good time. 

The Decorated Boat Display- CANDY CANE LANE – will be held Saturday, December 3rd, at the Port Orchard Marina. Boats that are planning to attend need to make a reservation (moorage is free to those boats that are decorated but there will be a nominal charge for electricity. Marina Telephone number is 360-876-5535.

Volunteers are needed to help welcome each of the yachts as they arrive and register those participating with their decorated boat. Sinclair Inlet Yacht Club is the Host for this event and will be providing a Saturday evening meal for all the participants (Boaters) and their invited guests. This year, tickets will be handed out with the registration of each yacht and their “crew”. The tickets will need to be presented  by each person joining the food line.

 

Last years soup bar was such a success-it has been decided to repeat that meal. So fill up your crock-pots with your best hearty soup recipe and join the fun. 4-6pm to avoid crowded condition.  If you know ahead of time please let Judy Griffiths jpgriffithe1898@yahoo.com  know

Sunday – December 4th, the last SIYC General meeting for 2011 will be held- Time and Location to be announced. This will include the swearing in of 2012 SIYC officers.

 Christmas Lane Hope you have your Christmas decorations ready 
~  Each participating member shall bring a pot of their favorite soup and/or cookies as we host a "Soup Bar" for all boats that join us for the contest. From 4 to 6pm to avoid the crowds.

THANK YOU AHEAD OF TIME TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEER, BY;

  1. Greeting and helping to register boats
  2. Setting up party shed
  3. People for ½ hour shifts at the “vote casting table” at the entrance to the guest dock and “vote receiving table” at the party shed.
  4. Help tallying the votes
  5. Help distribute the participation certificates on Sunday morning.
